bats
while taking the garbage out after a brief rainstorm, I noticed the bats were especially active and tried to get a photo... here are four results of my attempts...
it's too bad I couldn't get a better photo. I love how their wings are totally translucent... would have liked a clear image of that, but I think these are interesting nonetheless.
A note about the scale: in two of the pix, the bats look huge, but they're actually very small; the largest-seeming ones (top right, bottom left) are just a few feet above my head. Only the top left image shows a bat that is actually near the lamp.

At twilight every night, thousands of bats would emerge from the mountain in the background and fly overhead. This is the best piccie I could muster...
